Hello! I am Esperanza Melo, the founder of Melo y Reyes Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because as a mother myself, I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 20 years of experience working with young children.

Philosophy

Melo y Reyes Family Child Care Wonderschool is a play-based program that emphasizes the interactions of the children with their natural surroundings. Your child will have the opportunity to grow, create, discover, construct, and relate with their classmates, and develop their social-emotional skills. We care deeply about guiding and supporting our students in these important stages of their development.

Our program focuses on the stimulation and learning of the students, where each student has the opportunity to develop their individuality and their own capacity through exploration and play. We care and educate the children in an environment that is socially and emotionally positive, where we celebrate the culture, language, and ethnic heritage of each child.

Melo y Reyes Family Child Care Wonderschool es un programa basado en el juego que enfatiza las interacciones de los niños con su entorno natural. Su hijo tendrá la oportunidad de crecer, crear, descubrir, construir y relacionarse con sus compañeros de clase, y desarrollar sus habilidades socioemocionales. Nos preocupamos profundamente por guiar y apoyar a nuestros estudiantes en estas etapas importantes de su desarrollo.

Nuestro programa se enfoca en la estimulación y el aprendizaje de los estudiantes, donde cada estudiante tiene la oportunidad de desarrollar su individualidad y su propia capacidad a través de la exploración y el juego. Location

Melo y Reyes Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, beautiful home in the Altadena neighborhood.

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my private yard. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.

At Melo y Reyes Family Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.

About our program

At Melo y Reyes Family Child Care Wonderschool, we are so happy to have the opportunity to care for your child and your family. We believe in working as a team with you, the parents, to provide your child a high-quality early childhood education experience. The activities we do with our students and the materials we provide them with support their growth at each stage of their development. We create an environment of warmth, love, and safety where children feel excited to explore and learn.

We provide a bilingual Spanish and English education that promotes the development of language skills in two languages. Our mission is to encourage the independence of our students so that they are confident and ready to succeed in their future years at school.

En Melo y Reyes Family Child Care Wonderschool, estamos muy contentos de tener la oportunidad de cuidar a su hijo y su familia. Creemos en trabajar en equipo con ustedes, los padres, para brindarle a su hijo una experiencia de educación infantil de alta calidad. Las actividades que hacemos con nuestros estudiantes y los materiales que les brindamos apoyan su crecimiento en cada etapa de su desarrollo. Creamos un ambiente de calidez, amor y seguridad donde los niños se sienten emocionados de explorar y aprender.

Brindamos una educación bilingüe en español e inglés que promueve el desarrollo de habilidades lingüísticas en dos idiomas. Nuestra misión es fomentar la independencia de nuestros estudiantes para que estén seguros y listos para tener éxito en sus años futuros en la escuela.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
