Our Teachers

Hello! I am Jylani Brown, the founder of Little Lotus Peace School. I was inspired to start the program because my dream has always been to design an intentional space where children can blossom and grow. I have 32 years of experience working with young children an an early childhood graduate education, and an AMI Montessori Primary Certification. I am also a certified integrative health practitioner, mindfulness instructor and children’s yoga instructor.

Philosophy

At Little Lotus Peace School, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by following their own unique style of discovery. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps each child to feel confident and capable. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space and to develop an embodied sense of self love and confidence.

Location

Little Lotus Peace School is located in a bright, inviting space in the Windsor Hills neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and block area (for gross motor skills and problem-solving).

Children will have some outdoor time every day at a mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Connecting with nature lets children gain a deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.

At Little Lotus Peace School, we provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.

About our program

We incorporate culturally responsive mindfulness, meditation, and movement into our daily activities. Our focus on the connection between Earth and human engagement will allow our youth to explore their inner and world.
