Our Teachers

Hello! I am Leonor Farias, the founder of Farias Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 10 years of experience working with young children.

I worked at an assistant at two child care programs before opening my own. I was a kindergarten teacher in Argentina. I have taken Child Development classes at UCLA. I have a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential that allows me to run a child care program anywhere in the United States.

I love working with diverse families. Many families come to me as their child’s first time in child care and i work closely with them on the development of their child.

I have one son who is 17. I am Argentinian. I come from a family of teachers - my mom and aunts are teachers.

I love music. I play the flute and I love cooking. I also love gardening. and dancing

Betty, Maria and Carolina are my assistants. They all love working with kids. They help with cleaning and cooking.

Philosophy

At Farias Family Child Care Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by exploring the world around them. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps prepare children to thrive in school and the broader world. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.

Location

Farias Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, beautiful single family home in the Culver City neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Farias Family Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.

About our program

We are a Family Child Care.

We are currently working with two Head Start Agencies

We have speech therapist, nutritionist, and yoga teacher frequently coming into our facility and provide their services. We cook home cook meals everyday with organic foods guided by the nutritionist.

We welcome all children will any form of disability, ethnicity, race, etc.

Our philosophy is that children learn through play and in the family style setting.

Our children follow a routine in which the have specific monitored activities but also have free time to socialize on their own paste with the other children.

We focused on working with nature so the children will get dirty with water, dirt, sand, and/or paint.
