Our Teachers

Hello! I am Jacqueline Castro Dona, the founder of Dona’s Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 12 years of experience working with young children.

I have previously taken Foster Home classes and eventually decided to open my child care program because I truly love working with children of all ages. My goal is to provide a nurturing and educational environment to help prepare children for success in school and beyond.

Philosophy

At Dona’s Family Child Care Wonderschool, I provide a warm, nurturing environment for children to learn and explore. My in-home program features a play room filled with learning activities, from a dramatic play corner with a toy kitchen to an arts & crafts area where I love doing projects with children. I believe that children need love, attention, and a safe space to grow and prosper.

I offer a Spanish immersion program, as Spanish is my primary language. I believe that children who are exposed to a second language at a young age develop stronger mental and social-emotional skills as they learn about other cultures and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Location

Dona’s Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a warm and welcoming single family home in the South Los Angeles neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for imagination and creativity), and art area (for expressing emotions and ideas).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my backyard area. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Dona’s Family Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.
