Our Teachers

Hello! I am Estrella Mundy, the founder of Chavez Family Childcare Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 10 years of experience working with young children. As a mother of 2 I felt that I could provide a safe and nurturing environment in my home. I opened my daycare 5 years ago but before that I helped on and off at another daycare center where my spark for working with children became stronger. Working with children and their families brings me so much joy.

Philosophy

At Chavez Family Childcare Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps each child to feel confident and capable. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.

Location

Chavez Family Childcare Wonderschool is located in a warm, inviting single family home in the Hollywood neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.

At Chavez Family Childcare Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.

Come see what makes Chavez Family Childcare Wonderschool unique. Please schedule a tour or attend an Open House event.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
