Our Teachers

Hello! I am Angelica Sorto, the founder of Pulgarcito Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 15 years of experience working with young children. I am proudly a member of Quality Counts in San Mateo County and I continue to attend workshops to further my learning in Early Childhood Education. ¡Hola! Soy Angélica Sorto, la dueña de Pulgarcito Wonderschool. Philosophy

At Pulgarcito Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that makes children feel welcomed and at home. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space. Through our bilingual program, our children will be exposed to Spanish language and culture, which we believe helps benefit all of our young ones long-term – both academically and in the rest of their lives.

Location

Pulgarcito Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, charming single family home in the East Palo Alto neighborhood. We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include our cheerful outdoor space (for discovering nature and science concepts), our reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), and dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my private yard. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth. At Pulgarcito Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home that encourages social and emotional learning.
