My name is Daisy Zhang and I am the director Sunshine Baby Daycare & Wonderschool. I grew up in China and earned my Bachelor’s degree in child development in Australia before arriving in California. I love working with kids and have had the opportunity to do so on three continents, bringing a piece of each place to my own program here in the Bay.
I started this program with the hope of spending time with my child, and my youngest of two sons is enrolled here as a student. Being able to watch him develop alongside his peers brings me great joy and I am passionate about providing a program for him and his peers that prepares them academically and connects them to my background!

Philosophy
At Sunshine Baby Wonderschool, students engage in an immersive bilingual environment that supports their language abilities in English and Mandarin. Students in our care will receive instruction in both languages and become comfortable engaging in conversation in either dialect. Research shows that language acquisition is easiest for students before the age of five, and songs, activities, and games that we engage in are an enriching way for us to set students up for success in our bilingual space.
Our main goal is to ensure that children are comfortable and happy each day that they are in our program. We have created a learning area in our home that we hope will become an important part of your child’s life and eventually will feel like a second home to them. Children arrive excited to learn each day and remain happy throughout their time with us. As students move through free play or engage in our daily activities, we support them to make decisions that help develop a sense of independence and foster their curiosity.
Location
Nestled in a cozy neighborhood directly off of Stevens Creek Blvd, our program is located in a single-family home near the intersections of 280, 85 and Lawrence Expressway. We are less than 10 minutes away from major tech companies, including Apple, that are based out of the Silicon Valley, and the campus of De Anza College.
About our program
The highlight of each day is our circle time, where we work with students on foundational skills that help them grow academically and socio-emotionally, then transition in the arts and crafts each day that foster creativity. The happiness that we see in students during this key part of our daily rhythm is the benchmark of our program and sets up each day through lively interactions.
All meals and snacks are cooked in our home, many of which are made from traditional Chinese recipes and organic ingredients. The culture of our home country is not just reflected in the language, but the meals that we share together. This sense of homeyness is appreciated by parents, who know that their children are treated like our own when they are here each day.
