Our Teachers

Hello! My name is Angie Johana Cataño, and I founded Miles of Smiles because caring for children is not just my job, it’s my calling. Originally from Colombia, I’ve spent over a decade teaching and nurturing little ones in both my home country and the U.S. I opened this daycare after realizing that I wanted to give more love, more learning, and more connection to every child in my care. I’m also a proud mom of a teenager, so I understand what parents go through.

Philosophy

Our goal at Miles of Smiles Daycare & Wonderschool is to successfully adopt contemporary pedagogical practices that stimulate the multiple intelligences of a child. Our daycare is based on principles of love, humanity, empathy and respect. Areas of development include emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth, as well as an emphasis on self-esteem. All of this occurs through deep connection to music and Spanish!

Location

Our program is located in a single-family home in the northeast corner of Cupertino. Children have access to our large, private backyard daily and I have dedicated entire portions of our home to this program. We are directly off of the Wolfe Rd. exit on 280 and just minutes from many major company offices including Apple.

About our program

We are a Spanish-immersion program with an emphasis on music. Children have access to the many kid-friendly instruments in my home! We explore creatively through songs, dance, and play.

Parents are kept in the loop through consistent communication. I send families photos and pictures during the day to keep you aware of what your little one is doing. Menus for the healthy food I make and provide are sent home weekly.

We believe in building students’ ability to be creative! From the songs we sing during circle time to the art projects that we make during group activities, we love having fun and supporting learning.

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
