Philosophy
Under the Rainbow Family Childcare values the child as central to their own learning, not simply an empty vessel waiting to be filled with knowledge. Our high quality early childhood programs teach children to think creatively so they may succeed in a complex and ever-changing world. Purposeful play is developmentally appropriate and a significant element of any early childhood program. We believe that children learn best in a nurturing, child-initiated play-based environment that fosters self-confidence, trust, creativity, autonomy and acceptance of individual differences. Play-based curriculum engages all senses in learning. For example, children may hear stories and sing songs about farm animals, then collaborate with others playing imaginary games.
About our program
At Under the Rainbow, your child will develop their best mind, their love of learning, their personality, and their bright future. Inspired by Reggio Emilia and play-based approach, children choose activities based on their current interests . We will value and develop each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning. We believe that children learn through play. We will provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, create and imagine.
We believe that secure relationships with responsive, respectful adults provide the basis for young learning. This approach is designed to help them grow as students and people, in school, and in life beyond.
