Our Teachers
Hello! I am Luz Vasquez, the program director / founder of Little Owl Wonderschool. I came to the US at the young age of 16. I understood the barriers that our communities have, which is why I decided to open Little Owl Wonderschool. I have 12 years of experience working with young children from ages 0-13 years.
My team and I are a family who care about each family that comes into our home. We understand the importance of quality child care, and most of all we understand the importance of the needs of each child that walks into our home.
I graduated from college in Los Angeles as a Teacher, and I am dedicated to always learning and improving my program by continuing to learn through trainings, cohort programs, and college classes. I am passionate about helping my community, families in need of child care assistance, and most of all caring for all of our little ones.
My goal is for children to feel safe, and loved, but it is equally important to me that parents feel secure and comfortable entrusting their children in our care, and I value transparency and open communication.

Philosophy
At Little Owl Wonderschool, we hope to cultivate self-esteem and independence in our children so they can achieve everything they dream of. We believe children should always feel safe, loved and important, and when they walk through the door each day, we want them to know how much they matter. Above all, we want children to feel that they are cared for by someone who loves them in a home away from home.
Location
Little Owl Wonderschool is located in a bright, welcoming home in the Bell Gardens neighborhood.
About our program
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include our art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), our reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite) and our manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts).
Children will spend much of their time outside everyday in our large, sunny private outdoor patio space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!
At Little Owl Wonderschool, we want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
