Our Teachers
Ms. Lynn has a degree in Biology and went to school for secondary education. But after becoming a mom of two boys she discovered preschoolers are her favorite. She is in her element with mud on her hands and feet and catching frogs or turtles. She has been working with kids for over 20years and loves sharing her passion for nature with them.
Philosophy
Here at Wait-A-While Playschool we have learned that when you go at the pace of a 3 or 4 year old you see and discover a lot more than going at an adult’s pace or trying to keep up with our busy world. “Adopt the pace of Nature her secret is patience” -Ralph Waldo Emerson. Patience is key when working with preschoolers. This along with a visit to an Australian rain forest are where we got our name. Nature Based early childhood is getting more and more popular. Research has shown there are countless benefits to spending more time outside. We follow the motto of “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing” and try and spend the majority of time outside year round. Self-regulation, discovering acceptable risks, and self-confidence are the foundations for our program.
Location
We are located at a quaint little farmhouse surrounded by farmland and fields. This house has been in the Schanen family for over 50 years. We will take “walking” field trips to local farms to visit farm animals and help with collecting eggs and other child size chores.
