Our Teachers

Kerry Forrayi, Founder/Lead Teacher

Kerry (Teacher K), Founder of Orange Tea School, is a passionate early childhood educator with a forward-thinking approach to learning. Often compared to iconic figures like Mr. Rogers, Ms. Frizzle, and Mary Poppins, Kerry possesses a remarkable ability to inspire and connect with children.

The daughter of two dedicated educators, Teacher K’s career path was naturally drawn to the classroom. Her journey began with the founding of her first school, Wellspring Preschool on Phinney Ridge. There she honed her skills and developed a deep-rooted belief in child-led learning.

Teacher K’s vision continued with the relocation of Wellspring to Fremont in 2012, where it was renamed Orange Tea School through a collaborative process with the students. Today, Teacher K continues to foster a learning environment that empowers children to explore their world with wonder and curiosity.

Beyond the classroom, Teacher K is dedicated to sharing her innovative teaching methods with other educators and parents through the Orange Tea School Functional Education model. She is also committed to creating a sustainable future by incorporating a wide array of regenerative business practices into the school’s ethos.

Andrew Forrayi, Teacher/Admin

I discovered my passion for early childhood education in 2014 while pursuing an engineering degree. Inspired by the child-led approach of Teacher Kerry, founder of Orange Tea School, I have dedicated my career to nurturing young minds.

With over 10 years of experience, I am committed to fostering a learning environment that emphasizes STEM, kindergarten preparation, environmental stewardship, and, of course, fun! I believe in creating a strong community where each child can thrive and develop a solid foundation for future success.

Trinity Forrayi, Teacher/Chef

A lifelong member of the Orange Tea School community, brings a unique blend of passion and expertise to her role as an educator. Growing up immersed in the child-led philosophy, Trinity developed a deep appreciation for the joy of learning through exploration.

Her diverse interests in culinary arts, music, animals, and sign language enrich her ability to create engaging and multisensory learning experiences. After exploring culinary pursuits and gaining professional experience at PCC, Trinity realized her true calling lay in inspiring young minds.

As Orange Tea School’s private chef, Trinity infuses her love of food into the curriculum, fostering creativity, sensory development, and a healthy relationship with food. Her firsthand knowledge of the school’s philosophy allows her to ignite children’s curiosity and support their individual learning journeys.

Philosophy

We believe that emotional intelligence is the foundation upon which all other intelligences are built and that preschool is the key time for instilling feelings of empowerment and empathy. Through imaginative play children naturally explore and practice these concepts on their own. Woven into our curriculum are tools and practices for expanding awareness and emotional resiliency.

Location

We’re located two blocks from Green Lake Library and the NE Green Lake Park. Many of our families enjoy walking down to the park after school for a little extra community play time.

Our lush tree lined outdoor play area is a cool oasis on hot summer days and a place of rainy day exploration during the winter months. Our stewardship focused environment with several species of trees, green grass and flower gardens, contains micro habitats which are home to birds, squirrels and bugs co-existing with our students highly active play in our mixed age class!

About our program

Orange Tea School provides a rich, dynamic learning experience with fully integrated Functional education curriculum. Our holistic learning environment nurtures social, emotional and academic development through child-driven explorations of nature, art, music and movement. Children are invited into the warm, creative space of our school as creators of their own experience and members of a heart-centered community.
