Testimonials
My girls were with Jackson Child Care for over 5 years and it was a wonderful experience. They would still be there if we had not moved across the country. Monica became a part of our family and gave the girls experiences most kids don’t get to have. Her love and support for the girls and our family are priceless and we are blessed to have her in our lives. - Jamie B
Ms. Jackson is a high-quality professional who has been an invaluable partner in our daughter’s development. Ms. Jackson runs her program according to all the appropriate state and local requirements as well as designing a curriculum that’s informed by industry best practices. She is constantly learning and educating herself to be the best provider she can be. My daughter is extremely willful and can be quite the handful. We worked with Ms. Jackson on her development and took her feedback into consideration with all the care and thoughtfulness it was intended. Ms. Jackson regularly demonstrates the ability to be flexible within the guidelines to help “meet kids where they are” so they can grow in all the important ways. We have complete faith and trust in her service and ability to educate our little one. - Kristofer H
Ms. Jackson runs a wonderful daycare which we sent our eldest son for approximately two years. After bouncing around multiple, sub-par daycares, we found Jackson Day Care and felt comfortable keeping our son there until he was ready for kindergarten. Under Ms. Jackson’s care, our son’s emotional intelligence as well as his auditory, visual, pencil/paper, and gross motor skills progressed rapidly, enabling him to get admitted into a competitive, local private school. Before the pandemic, the daycare would take regular field trips to the library, museums, farmer markets, and other places, making learning more meaningful for the kids. The daycare itself is well-maintained, and it periodically undergoes a deep cleaning, making it a comfortable environment for any child. - Rob W
Philosophy
We believe that a quality early childhood program encourages a love of learning and preparing children for school. We also believe that the program adapts to each child’s developmental needs. Similar to school readiness, we believe that the program should help children develop life skills. At Jackson Child Care, we are continually at work creating fun and exciting learning environments, field trips, and activities for the children in our care. Our Early Childhood Program focuses on:
- Development of letter knowledge, print motivation, phonological awareness, vocabulary, and narrative–all fundamental skills for reading
- Development of essential school readiness skills focusing on individual children’s needs in the curriculum planning process
- Guided play using knowledge of early childhood development to create an at-home nurturing environment with enriching activities to support the development of school readiness and life skills
- Language development that allows children to communicate with others, cultivate writing, cultivate reading, and cultivate critical thinking
- Play which is essential for young children’s development and learning
- Social and emotional development
- Fostering listening skills because listeners are learners
- Unstructured/Free Play- allowing time and making available age-appropriate play materials for children to experience the joy of free
- Immersion Learning – Hands-on-learning through field trip experiences
JCC Program’s daily activities align with the Virginia Foundation Blocks for Early Learning. We are a Virginia State licensed family day home. Our preschool program is one of a few Family Day Homes in this area registered with and approved by the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA), a military tuition assistance program. We provide the children in our care with age-appropriate developmental activities so that they experience successful transitions into elementary school. All children in care engage in learning activities and experiences that cover the following domains: language and emerging literacy, math, science, physical health, and social/emotional development with specific learning objectives. Working together with parents we support children’s growth, learning, and development!
For the past 30 years, we have supported families with quality early care along with providing their children with a stellar educational experience and a solid academic foundation.
Using an integrated approach, the learning activities included in our curriculum address developmental areas that make up the whole child. We are pleased to report that we use the Virginia Foundation Blocks for Early Learning as our guide.
For the past 30 years, we have successfully prepared children to enter kindergarten and to learn with a structured researched-based curriculum.
About our program
Welcome to Jackson Child Care (JCC) where our mission is to learn, play and grow together! We have come a long way since 1991 when Ms. Jackson started taking care of children to earn an income while staying home to raise her daughters. What started, as an additional income opportunity quickly became a family passion and Ms. Jackson’s career!
Through years of rigorous professional development education and training, we have developed a program that offers children hands-on learning opportunities in a safe and fun environment. Our students gain valuable knowledge and social skills that help them to succeed in school and in life.
Caring for someone else’s child is an important and rewarding responsibility that we take very seriously. We are proud to serve the working families of Northern Virginia, and we give our best every day. By keeping our focus on a small number of children, we are able to effectively tailor our lessons and activities to each child’s needs. Your child’s safety, well-being, and peace of mind are our top priority.
As we celebrate our 31st anniversary, we remain committed to providing outstanding and affordable childcare services. We are building a community of learners and future leaders by establishing early learning school readiness through quality childcare. We invest in children and working families. Working families invest in the community and the economy. We invite you to explore our website and learn more about us. Thank you for your interest and for letting us serve your family.
