Our Teachers

Hi, I’m Erica Ramirez, founder and director of Curious Minds Discovery Club. I’m a devoted mother of seven, an experienced educator, and a woman of faith who feels truly called to care for and nurture children in their most important early years.

My passion for early childhood development began at St. Thomas University, where I studied Early Childhood Development and interned at both the Children’s Assessment Center in Houston and a local daycare. Though I left school early to raise my family, I never stepped away from education—I stepped deeper into it.

For over 15 years, I’ve homeschooled my own children and served as a director and teacher at multiple homeschool educational co-ops. I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside families in shaping young minds, both academically and emotionally.

My husband and I, married nearly 25 years, are both volunteer youth sports coaches, and our Christian faith is the foundation of our home and this business. Our children reflect the fruit of that foundation:

One is a Senior at Washington and Lee University in VA

One is at UT Austin, on the path to medical school

One serves in the U.S. Coast Guard and is pursuing a career in electrical work

One is a Division I soccer player at Wake Forest University

And our three youngest are still school-aged and active in multiple sports and hobbies.

Most recently, I served as a Kids Academy Supervisor at Life Time Fitness in Frisco, where I led a team in creating a fun and safe environment for children. After stepping away for medical reasons, which are now resolved, I continued doing what I love—providing full-time care in my home for a sweet 16-month-old. Over the past year, I’ve felt deeply compelled to open my home to more families, offering a warm and enriching place where children can learn, grow, and feel truly loved.

At Curious Minds Discovery Club, I focus on open ended, play-based learning, social-emotional development, and early academics, tailored to meet each child’s unique personality and developmental stage. This is more than just childcare—it’s a calling, a community, and a home.

Thank you for considering us. I would be honored to care for and support your child’s journey.

Philosophy

We offer a unique blend of Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia and play based learning philosophies.
