Our Teachers
I started my career working with children in 1999, enrolled in a ROP program my Senior year of High School. I knew then that this was my life long career path. I have worked with infant/toddlers all the way to school aged children, and Preschool aged is my niche.

Dear Future Families and Students, I would like to share a few things about Melinda and her wonderful preschool program! I have been privileged to know her and her family for some years, and she has an amazing preschool program! She does arts and crafts that are inventive and safe. She has a wonderfully calm manner and ‘no temper’ approach to parenting and teaching. As a result, her preschool students gain valuable early learning skills while getting to celebrate independence and build confidence! Her preschoolers leave her program ready to conquer pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten. The ingenuity and kindness she displays is unparalleled. Don’t believe what you have heard, go experience what she does for yourself! Ask for her parent references and hear their success stories! If you need a safe, kind, knowledgeable and inspiring preschool teacher with a first-class learning program, PLEASE CALL MELINDA! -Roxanne Moss
To whom it may concern,
I’ve known Melinda Lewis for over 2 years now and have used her as a provider for several of my family members. Melinda has owned and operated her own preschool and is also certified through DHS to provide care for foster parents in need. Melinda maintains a clean and safe environment for the children in her care. She is very honest, attentive, patient, and is always happy to see the children. They are always bringing home some type of project that they’ve made and share the many funny things that they have done while at her home. Melinda goes above and beyond, she puts together craft nights/potlucks for the children and the families in her care monthly. I believe that Melinda will make a very valuable asset to your child(ren) given the knowledge and experience she has working with children of all ages. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely
Michelle Mendes
Philosophy
I am a Active Learning Preschool. I do have weekly curriculum themes that involve all areas of education, arts and crafts, STEM, sensory, and so much more. I do many projects that involve all of the children together, watching them problem solve and use each others ideas is rewarding.
Location
Happy Trails Preschool is located just minutes off of Highway 97/ Smith Rock Road and Terrebonne Community Elementary. We enjoy the beautiful view of Smith Rock daily and country views.
About our program
Happy Trails Preschool, LLC is a Licensed Registered Family in-home Preschool. I offer Active Learning, aka Hands-On-Learning. I believe it’s important for children to experience reading time, arts and crafts, music, dance, outdoor play, and lots of exploring the natural world. I have put together a curriculum that is age appropriate for ages 2-5 and their individual learning needs.
