Our Teachers

I have dedicated my professional journey to the field of early childhood education, bringing over three decades of experience and passion to supporting the growth and learning of young children. My academic path began with an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Child, Family, and Community certificate from Central Oregon Community College, augmented by extensive coursework at Palomar College and Southern Oregon University.

My work began at the YMCA in southern California in 1988 and continued as a head preschool teacher for over four years. My career has encompassed leadership and administrative roles in educational settings, as well as years spent as a full-time stay-at-home mother—a role that allowed me to volunteer extensively in local schools and serve on school committees.

I resumed work at a local preschool and returned to higher education, centering my efforts on enhancing educational and childcare opportunities for children under age five. I am driven by a personal mission to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives through quality early childhood programs.

Continuous professional development is a cornerstone of my practice. I regularly participate in annual summits and classes with leaders in play-based education, including Opal School, Fairy Dust Teaching, Kristin RB Peterson, and Teacher Tom. I earn over 30 hours of professional development each year and am an active member of the Play Provisions Club and the Wonder League Program with Wonderled™.

Supported by my family and an inspiring learning community, I am committed to deepening my understanding of children’s learning through play and leading an innovative preschool that supports all children in reaching their fullest potential.

Philosophy

Kidinc is designed as an exceptional school dedicated to young children, with a focus on their unique needs. The goal is to create a welcoming environment that feels loving and warm to everyone who walks through the doors.

The mission centers on providing an outstanding experience for young children and their families by fostering a caring and enriching atmosphere. This setting helps children feel comfortable, confident, and safe. Kidinc believes that the foundational elements of learning are play, curiosity, creativity, questioning, and imagination, and by embracing this approach to learning, it positively influences children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Location

Our preschool is nestled in a prime in-town location at the heart of Redmond, Oregon, making it a wonderful place for young children to learn and grow. The school is just a short, safe walk from the Redmond Library, giving our preschoolers regular opportunities to visit for story time and early literacy programs that enrich classroom learning.

We are a block from the Dry Canyon trail system—a unique natural feature that runs right through the middle of Redmond. The canyon offers safe walking trails and open spaces, allowing our children to experience firsthand the changing seasons, wildlife, and countless opportunities to connect with the natural world.

This walkable, central location means families and staff can easily access essential community resources, and children benefit from frequent outings for learning, movement, and discovery. Our preschool’s setting truly supports a vibrant, connected, and joyful early childhood experience, where adventures in both the classroom and outdoors are only steps away.
