Our Teachers

Ms. Cassie, Center Director/ Lead Teacher Mrs. Cassie was born in Portland, Oregon but raised in Seaside. Cassandra is bilingual! She speaks both English and Spanish. Cassandra has 3 children: ages 7,11 & 14. She has 11+ years of working in the preschool field starting as an Aide all the way up to a director of her own Preschool in 2017. She has a certificate in Child Daycare and is working towards her degree in Elementary Education. Cassandra loves paragliding in Mexico and spending time with her children.

Ms. Hannah, Is our fun loving toddler teacher with a heart of gold. She is very caring and loves to see all toddler meet their milestones and celebrates with them as they meet them. Hannah always has a smile and a positive attitude.

Step Ahead Academy is a school community for creative and independent thinkers where children learn to explore rich possibilities in learning. We have a genuine vision for early childhood education that encompasses a love of teaching with a strong commitment to create a warm and nurturing environment where it is safe to make mistakes.

Conveniently located in Gearhart, Oregon, just a stone’s throw from Seaside’s Prom and a short drive from Fort Stevens State Park in Warrenton, Oregon. Step Ahead is in the heart of Oregon’s Northwest coast.

About our program

We are a quality Child Care Center conveniently located in Gearhart, Oregon off of Highway 101. The philosophy of Step Ahead Academy is to enrich children through warm and nurturing state-certified teachers who focus on multiple learning styles and a child-first approach. We carefully chose our curriculum to include what truly works in the learning environment. The result: a play-based learning environment; full of fun, engaging and developmentally challenging activities. At Step Ahead Academy, we believe combining physical and mental activity is essential in achieving superior academics. We offer a variety of fun movement-based activities inside and outside, weather permitting. Lots of basic vocabulary and fun, engaging songs. This allows your child to become confident in both body and mind, as well as stimulating your child’s creativity.
