Our Teachers

Amanda Shelley, Director, Lead Teacher

Amanda has worked in childcare for collectively 8 years. Her mother owned a certified childcare facility and preschool that she worked at as her first job, and since then, has worked at other certified centers and did legal unlicensed care in her home for over a year and a half. She realized her dream of having her own childcare program after the birth of her first daughter. Her favorite thing about what she does is developing relationships with the children that she teaches and their families. She believes that small class size and the development of a strong community allow her and her team to really know each child as an individual and to provide a solid and supportive foundation in the early years.

Paxton Richards, Assistant 2, Groundskeeper, Maintenance

Paxton is a loving father, devoted partner, and a hardworking individual. He has taken all necessary trainings and has undergone FBI background checks and has been fingerprinted. He is listed as an assistant 2 with the Department of Early Learning and Care, and he continues to learn about childcare through accredited training courses. He loves playing with the children, keeping the outside and inside of the home clean and tidy, assisting with meal and prep, arts and crafts, and with taking the children on walks and adventures. He goes above and beyond to ensure Magical Moments is running smoothly, and does anything Amanda needs to fulfill her role as a teacher and caregiver.

Kylee Langmo, Assistant 2, Sub Director:

Kylee has worked with children since she was a young girl assisting her mother with her 4 younger siblings. Her love for taking care of children blossomed and she worked at Mrs. Tami’s daycare and preschool LLC for 5 years. She quickly became teacher qualified. She also spent lots of time babysitting many families in the community. Since the closure of her previous daycare job, she spent time nannying. She has now worked at Magical Moments for over a year, and is expecting a little of her own. Kylee is caring, compassionate, and loves working with children. She helps assist the children in daily activities, art projects, and ensuring safety in the classroom.

Testimonials

“We absolutely LOVED having miss Amanda care for our baby girl!!! The amount of communications, updates, and teaching she did were outstanding! When we moved the only thing we were sad about was having to switch care for our then 14 month old. Miss Amanda helped her advance with sign language (more, eat, done, etc). They sang, the read- we had new artwork every single day. The activities she does are great and, for a daughter like ours that is constantly wanting to learn and stay busy, we couldn’t have been happier. 20/10 would recommend her!! If we still lived in the area she would be the ONLY person I’d want our daughter staying with each day. Thank you Miss Amanda for caring for her like we do. We miss you.” -Danyle Cafferky

“Amanda does creative, thoughtful, inclusive, and grounded-in love work for all children and families that are lucky enough to be in her care. She is always learning ways to make her practice and space “better”- even though both are so strong already! The Magical Moments space is clean, welcoming, and clearly designed with kids in mind. I love that my two kiddos often come home having done art that day, or creative exploration activities, or-my kids favorite- outdoor adventure play! Our family has experienced a variety of childcare environments, and I can wholeheartedly say that Amanda and Magical Moments is topnotch. I love knowing my children are with Amanda when they cannot be with me” -Shelby Gagnon

“As a new mom, I wasn’t sure what to expect when entrusting someone else with my child’s care at 8 months old. That’s when Amanda came into our life, and she is an absolute blessing. Amanda didn’t just watch over my daughter and the other babies; she actively taught them to communicate through sign language, engaged them in arts and crafts, and provided sensory play activities. She also helped them learn to eat independently. Amanda took numerous photos and documented not just the basic needs of the children but also their behaviors and milestones, making sure to keep parents informed. Her insight and attunement to each child’s development is remarkable. She pours so much love and care into each child, making every parent and child feel valued. If anyone is meant to raise up and help children flourish and grow, it is Amanda. I highly recommend her.” -Ashlee Kauffunger

“When it comes to my babies I’m very selective n who can watch them. We LOVE Amanda. I know they are well taken care of when they are with her. She really does love all the kids like her own. My boys absolutely adore her and so do I. She does fun learning activities and crafts! It’s so nice being able to fully trust someone with your babies. She’s an amazing person. I can’t say enought good things about her. We absolutely love her!” -Ashley Wolfe

“Amanda was the first caregiver to be with my baby when I finally went back to work. I had so many bad experiences with child care providers when my oldest was in daycare that I kept my youngest home until I absolutely couldn’t anymore. Amanda has been amazing. She has dealt with all my sons medical and behavioral needs with such grace and professionalism. She truly has a passion for kiddos. My son always comes home clean and happy, plus she sends me pictures and videos all day long which I love!” -JoAnna Massie

“If you’re a working parent, the hardest thing to decide after having a baby, is where your baby will go when you have to go back to work. Obviously, you would want someone to provide as good as care as you would. Amanda at Magical Moments provides that type of care and beyond. She connects with the children in a way you don’t see very often. If you think back to your early education years, I bet without hesitation you would be able to recall who your favorite teacher was. Amanda is so much like those favorite teachers. She plans out her days with careful thought that includes exciting, engaging activities for the kids to explore. She really does enjoy and adore the children in her care and it’s plain to see. In our area childcare is SO hard to come by, let alone QUALITY care. I am forever grateful to be 100% confident that my child is safe and loved while at Magical Moments. My daughter is very much glued to my hip, until we pull into the driveway at daycare and she yells out, “YAY!” For that reason, among others, I know this is the best place for her.” -Zoe Mergel

“Miss Amanda is by far the best teacher there could possibly be. She is patient and kind…She loves and teaches our children as we would expect our children to be taught, she helped my son with sign language how to communicate even when he couldn’t speak how to come out of his shell she was his first teacher ever first care provider ever, which is very hard for me to allow my son out of my sight, but we all know we have to go back to work one day lol Miss Amanda was there to help me through that process she’s now become one of my friends and I would recommend her to any and all. One thing she has said that will always stick with me and I quote: “We are there to raise your children when you can’t be we are to teach them and show them how to grow. We are there to fill their cups and make sure their brain stays stimulated and they’re learning” and that my friends is why Miss Amanda is recommended number one. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO” -RaeAnne Allison

“Miss Amanda is absolutely amazing. You can tell that her passion is absolutely in childcare and seeing your LO being the happiest, healthiest version of themselves. She always plans fun activities and my kiddo absolutely loves his “panda”. Truly grateful to have her.” -Alix McQuade

“We are so pleased with Miss Amanda and everything she does for our little one! Amanda is doing our community a huge service by opening up her home and providing a safe and loving space for infants and toddlers which is a high need area in our community. My Charlotte has been attending for a short time now but I am already seeing an increase in her social skills and wanting to play with other children. Amanda has created a beautiful space for the children to learn and play and keeps them busy with numerous and fun sensory, art, and outside activities. She truly does create Magical Moments each day for her littles. Thank you, Amanda!” -Jennifer McCollister
