In my program I believe every child can learn and has the ability to succeed. Children are capable, curious, and imaginative. I believe children learn the most through active play and imaginary play that also helps children in social peer relationships. I use creative curriculum tailored to each child to ensure the inclusion for all children. That includes daily circle time, projects, multicultural books and toys and ample outdoor play. The long term goals include assisting children to feel self-reliant, competent and capable.
In my program the parents or guardians are the first teachers and know their children better than anyone. I value parent participation as essential to the learning process. The children can take pride in sharing their achievements with parents. I encourage families to take the lessons and stories and continue while at home. This can help parents to understand where their child excels and where they might need further encouragement. I also encourage parents or guardians to come and discuss any issues they have. I have an open door policy for suggestions or concerns.
Our program is open and value including and sharing family customs and beliefs. We believe that including cultural and religious traditions can be an exciting way to learn about our friends and their families. This also includes all the different family situations and dynamics. It’s important to acknowledge all families and their differences.
I as the care provider will continue to participate in continuing my education.I look forward to any new ideas gained from the courses and peers. I take pride in knowing I am as up to date as possible with current standards.
All children deserve a learning environment that is…
- Safe and nurturing
- Fun and exciting
- A place to be themselves!
