Stephanie Harris, Founder and Director

Hello! I am Stephanie Harris, the founder of Tick Tock Wonderschool. I am a native of Brooklyn and attended Borough of Manhattan Community College. Having owned and directed Tick Tock for 13 years and having a nursing education, I have made it my goal to create the best possible in-home center-based child care. I have become increasingly aware of the great need for child care in New York City and I strategically based my program in a location where it will be of greatest service to the community.

Testimonials

“Mrs. Stephanie is an OUTSTANDING director and teacher. It is clear that she truly enjoys working with each and every child in her classroom, but always manages to make us feel that our daughter is special to her.” - The Carr Family

“We have been a part of the Tick Tock family for over 5 years and the group of individuals you have working for you are caring, professional, and dedicated. The teachers continually help and support us by caring of our sons. We commend them for their work and Tick Tock Day Care for the support we have received.” - Shaniqua, parent

“Our child has been fortunate enough to have spent the last 3 years at Tick Tock. We feel that Tick Tock has five him the opportunity to experience that learning is fun at an early age. We thank everyone at Tick Tock for the memories and taking such good care of our child.” - Erica, parent

“Mrs. Stephanie is a great teacher. She has made my daughter feel like she’s with family at Tick Tock. She takes time to write complete reports on my daughter’s activities each day and has even gone out of her way in the past to call us when my daughter had done something particularly funny or remarkable. She always greets our family with a smile. It’s that type of personal attention that makes us feel completely at ease leaving her in their hands.” - Sharon, parent

“My husband and I are so pleased with Tick Tock. During the first year, I went to Tick Tock every single day on my lunch hour to feed my daughter. Ms. Stephanie and the staff never made me feel like I was in the way and were always nice to me. I can’t think of a decision more important than who takes care of your child. For that reason, I would recommend Tick Tock to anyone.” - JG, parent

Philosophy

Our onboarding philosophy centers around helping students acquire cognitive, language, physical, and social-emotional skills through play-based learning grounded in character development and social-emotional supports.

In addition, Tick Tock Wonderschool values health and safety first, especially during Covid-19. We provide masks for children, accept appointments on specified days, and are committed to maintaining a high-quality, full-time family day care environment. We aim to cultivate logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, strong social skills, and exceptional character in every child. Our vision emphasizes creating a nurturing, safe, and warm environment that supports each child’s holistic development, while promoting diversity and high moral values among our team, parents, and children.

Location

Tick Tock Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, spacious apartment in the Harlem neighborhood.

Tick Tock’s unique environment is designed to stimulate a child’s creativity and to facilitate overall growth including social and emotional development. Children have access to a unique story telling area, designed for puppet shows, music, movies, and arts and crafts. In addition, children have an opportunity to learn through playing with blocks, small and large manipulative toys, reading areas, and physical play both indoors and outdoors every day. We have music, movement, dance, language, and creative arts throughout the day. Children are given enriched opportunities to explore, investigate, and discover.
