Our Teachers
Hello! I am Yoselyn Dujarric, the founder of Step1 Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 8 years of experience working with young children.
Philosophy
At Step1 Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps each child to feel confident and capable. In our program, children will feel empowered to follow their own interests in a safe space.
Location
Step1 Wonderschool is located in a warm, welcoming apartment in the Washington Heights, Manhattan neighborhood. We are only a few blocks away from the 181st St stop on the 1 line and across from Yeshiva University.
Children will have some outdoor time everyday at a local park or playground. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
About our program
This is a fully bilingual program. Your child will use both Spanish and English to communicate with me and other children, so they will develop a strong sense of both languages.
I build my curriculum around the children’s interests. I look at what the kids in my care find interesting to decide what will go in my lesson plans each week. It is important to me that I reflect their interests and support their growth!
