Our Teachers
Hello! I am Clariza Cabreja, the founder of Magic Footprints Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 10 years of experience working with young children.
My co-teacher Vanessa is a mom and has been working with me since I opened my daycare!
Achievements
Philosophy
At Magic Footprints Wonderschool, we believe in the development of a child as a whole through PLAY and LOVE. Children blossom most efficiently when they feel FREE, safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps each child to feel confident and capable. In our program, we will ensure that children will feel supported as they engage with different learnings.
We believe that learning happens when kids are having fun!: The structure of our curriculum is designed to allow the child to be free to express their individual creative ideas through different forms of play, music, dramatic play, literacy and art. This allows for a more natural method of learning. Play is imperative in children’s development as it encourages communication, improves cognitive development, and encourages relationship building.
We’re a Spanish bilingual program!: This means that your child has the opportunity to learn and engage in both English and Spanish while they are under our care. Research shows that children have an easier time learning other languages, thinking about language, developing strong thinking skills, and growing in other areas of cognitive development when they’re in a bilingual environment!
Location
Magic Footprints Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, charming apartment in the Washington heights neighborhood.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), and sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses).
Children will have some outdoor time everyday at mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
At Magic Footprints Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
