Thank you for your interest in Happy Shiny Faces Daycare! I established my program in 2014 and am so proud of the care we have provided to our community for the past 5 years. Before opening HSFD, I was in business administration. However, it was always my dream to have my own daycare and after I became a mom (of two lovely children!), I made that dream come true with the help of my husband and my family.

Working with children is my passion, and I enjoy working with all my little shiny faces every single day! I have training in Reggio-inspired curriculum and strive to ensure that all activities and materials used in my program are age-appropriate and inspire learning and discovery for every child. Our staff has so much love for the children who enter our program and we are very proud of the care we have given and will continue to give at Happy Shiny Faces!

Welcome to Happy Shiny Faces Daycare! We are a bilingual, Reggio-inspired child care program that has proudly served our community for 5 years. Our curriculum is based on sensory activities, which allow our children to develop all their senses and motor skills to the maximum. We are excited to invite to you to tour our program!

Our Mission

We are committed to providing high quality care to each of our children in a safe and loving environment. Our priority is to let children develop their skill through play, manipulative activities, sensory activities, and arts and creative expression. We have extracurriculars built into our day such as puppet story time, music, yoga and crafts to foster our children’s love of learning and discovery.

Location

Happy Shiny Faces Daycare is located in an inviting and spacious apartment in the Inwood neighborhood.

We have designed our space to accommodate our children’s love of exploration of the environment around them with additions of Reggio-inspired natural materials and ample amounts of age-appropriate manipulatives. With areas for art, dramatic play, and a cozy corner for reading and storytime, our space welcomes and encourages child-driven, hands-on learning so our kids can do what they love to do the most - be kids! Children will have some time outdoors every day to explore local parks and playgrounds, as well as collect materials for science, art, and experiment activities happening during the day.

As they grow, they retain the information they are gaining through their own kid-inspired play and development. Our children know their shapes, numbers, letters, and colors - which, of course, makes us very proud!

About our program

Just as the Reggio-inspired curriculum is vital to our children’s learning and growth, we place as much importance on our children experiencing a bilingual program! Throughout the day, we speak both English and Spanish to our children so they can grow their early vocabulary skills and explore another culture. Our play environment also exposes them to Spanish as our materials are labeled in English and Spanish.

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
