Our Teachers

Fatou Fall, Founder and Primary Provider

Fatou has had her child care program for 9 years. She has raised her own children and continues to follow her passion of taking care of others by helping raise her grandchildren and the children of many other families in her community. Since she was young, she had always dreamed of starting her own program where children can blossom and grow. Her daughter sometimes serves as an assistant and helps take care of children at program - including her own two young ones!

Philosophy

Welcome to Fatou’s Wonderschool! At our daycare program, we believe that children can grow and learn best as they play and discover the world around them. When they feel loved and nurtured, there is nothing they can’t do! It is our goal to provide a warm and welcoming care environment where children feel like they are at a home away from home.

Location

At Fatou’s Wonderschool, we want to provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play. Our program is located in a spacious, welcoming apartment in the Harlem area.

We try our best to give children some outdoor time everyday at a local park across the street. Connecting with nature is vital to a child’s happiness and growth and we know how much they need to get their wiggles out!

About our program

Having care for many young children in our family, we have chosen age-appropriate materials that our loved ones have enjoyed in the past and have categorized them to be in tune with specific learning areas. When play is focused on these areas, children will be able to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests.

Some of our favorite focuses are play with blocks (for gross motor skills and problem solving), utilizing dramatic play materials (for self-expression and empathy), and providing materials for children to explore music and movement (for physical activity and cultural learning).
