Ms. Fleury is the founder of Scholar of Tomorrow Brooklyn Wonderschool. She has over 16 years of experience working with children. She began working in a day center and moved on to an Early Intervention program in Brooklyn. Ms. Fleury also worked in a Public School setting with grades Pre-K to 12th. Philosophy
At Scholar of Tomorrow Brooklyn Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel genuinely cared for and cherished.
It is important for us that children feel they are in a safe environment. When kids feel comfortable and can be themselves, they are more open to experiences that let them grow. All children are fully capable of growing and learning, but it happens at their pace - as a result, it is our job to help them unlock their potential and provide opportunities for them to use all modalities to develop a sense of themselves and how to interact with the world. At the end of the day, children model themselves after the adults and peers in their lives - so each interaction is a learning opportunity.
Location
Scholar of Tomorrow Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, spacious single family home on the south end of the East Flatbush neighborhood, near the borders of Canarsie and the Flatlands. Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move! Pick-up and drop-off can be facilitated in our driveway for parents who drive; we are located near the B7 and B46 bus lines.
About our program
Learning occurs throughout our day, but circle time and group activities are guided by a theme. We will have a letter of the week that guides learning and helps prepare children for school.
Parents receive a newsletter that helps them understand what we’re working on. You can see the songs we’re singing or the stories we’re reading. We’ll share activities that you can do at home that bolster the learning that is happening each day at Scholar of Tomorrow.
We support our students’ creative outlets! Art projects each day allow our young students to explore the world around them through crafts. In addition, we will bake with the older children and see what we can make and cook by working together, following recipes, and seeing the science in these kinds of daily tasks!
