Our Teachers
Hello! I am Adriane Mitchell, the founder of Mitchell’s Day Care Wonderschool. I have over 30 years of experience as a preschool teacher working with young children in Early Childhood Programs in New York City. It has always been my childhood dream to have my own school where children can blossom and grow. I am inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high quality care in my community. With everday joy I have the opportunity to learn, share my experiences and knowledge with children and families in my community.

Philosophy
No one knows your child as well as you do; he/she is one-of-a-kind, imaginative and capable.
At Mitchell Child Care, we’re experienced and knowledgeable in the ways of early childhood development, and we are ready to partner with you to help your child experience all of the good things life has to offer them. We believe that children grow, learn and trive by following their own unique style of discovery. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages the children with developmental-appropriate activities and materials. We support and encourage the emotional, social, physical and intellectual development children need for imagination, new ideas and learnings to take flight!
Location
Our beautiful prepare day care is located in a bright, welcoming two family home in the Cypress Hills neighborhood. . We offer service for children 3 months to 5 years old. Our fully equipped classrooms and professional development opportunities give children the foundation needed to excel in a high-quality Montessori experience. We’ve designed our child care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), Science and math area (for discovery, exploration, fine motor skills and beginning math concepts), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).
Children will have schedule outdoor time everyday at mix of both my private yard and Highland park/ playground and Highland children garden. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
