Our Teachers

Hello! My name is Yubany Santana and I am the director of Kirindy Family Daycare & Wonderschool. I have been licensed for over a decade and love working with children. Both here and in my home country, I have always taught and support young children in their learning. I originally supported my own children and those of family members, but now I work with children from all over Brooklyn!

Philosophy

At Kirimdy Family Daycare & Wonderschool, we use a play-based philosophy to help children learn. We believe that when children are given the chance to explore and develop an understanding of the world around them, it helps them to grow. Children can develop a sense of the world around them like colors, shapes, numbers, and other foundational pieces of their learning by engaging with adults and each other in a space that is designed for them.

Kirimdy Family Daycare & Wonderschool is located in a safe, secure apartment building with an elevator. Children have the chance to use our gated playground for outside time each day during our schedule. We are just one block away from the Flushing Ave stop on the G line and 3 blocks from the Flushing Ave stop on the J and M lines.

About our program

We use weekly themes to help children learn and develop their understanding of the world. I pick a weekly topic and this helps children familiarize themselves with the vocabulary. I pick things that the kids are interested in so that they are excited to be at circle time, story time and our program each day.

This is a Spanish-immersion program. We spend our day speaking and interacting entirely in Spanish. This helps children build their language skills no matter what language they speak at home. Many of the children who are enrolled at Kirimdy for an extended period of time are fluent listeners and speakers!

The food that we prepare each day is natural and fresh. We cook food each day for the children that is healthy, not processed, and that they enjoy eating!

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application here! Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
