My name is Delores Vaughn. I have 15 years of experience taking care of children and I am the mother of 5. I am passionate about children. I love having all of my family’s children around me. It has always been in me to help families care for their children. I am CPR certified and am continuously taking classes to improve my skills and knowledge.
Philosophy
At Play & Grow Child Care, we believe that every child has the right to develop their physical abilities, engage with their peers and teachers, and explore the world around them through hands-on activities. We recognize the importance of providing both indoor and outdoor playtime to promote healthy growth and development in all areas.
Our philosophy is rooted in the understanding that physical activity is essential for children’s well-being, promoting not only physical health but also mental and emotional well-being. We encourage children to engage in activities that challenge their physical abilities, build strength and coordination, and develop gross and fine motor skills.
Furthermore, we believe that socialization is a critical component of children’s development. We foster an environment that encourages children to interact with their peers and teachers, promoting communication, cooperation, and empathy. We believe that in doing so, children learn to appreciate diversity, develop social skills, and build lasting friendships.
We are committed to providing hands-on activities that encourage children to explore and learn about the world around them. We believe that children learn best when they can touch, feel, and experience things firsthand. Thus, we provide opportunities for children to engage in activities that promote creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
Finally, we recognize the importance of outdoor playtime in promoting physical health and well-being. We encourage children to spend time outside, engaging in activities that promote physical activity and exploration. We believe that outdoor playtime provides children with valuable opportunities to connect with nature, develop their imaginations, and build confidence.

About our program
Play & Grow Childcare is a small in-home Family Child Care that provides care for up to 4 children at a time. During the day we spend time with creative activities like painting and coloring, lots of play time, and we work on early learning skills such as colors, shapes, and letters. We provide a healthy breakfast and lunch each day. All children are given time to nap or rest during the afternoon. We focus on supporting children in the development of their academic and friendship skills. We practice sharing and taking turns and treating each other fairly. I have open communication with families to develop a strong relationship. I share information each day on what their children have been doing during the day, mealtimes, and any other important information.
