Our Teachers

About Your Director: My name is Antanazia Bennett. I have been working with children for around 4 years now and I am currently completing my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I have had the pleasure of working with all ages up to 12 years old. I first got into teaching by volunteering at a childcare center in my local area. I absolutely fell in love and discovered my passion for working with children. Throughout my career I have had exciting opportunities to work with many amazing children in many different settings along the way. This has allowed me to observe different styles of learning and teaching. I am excited to create a program that I not only fully believe in but would also happily send even my own child.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHERS: Did you know that Studies show that 88% of teachers report observation of their students being happier and more engaged in learning when lessons are taken outside? The foundation for every student-teacher relationship here at Alula is mutual respect rather than autocratic leadership. All of our teachers are taught to practice conscious caregiver techniques and hold a natural curiosity for learning from children as much as they learn from us. Using mindfulness we aim to assist your child in building resiliency and life coping skills. Alula & Beyond teachers have been trained to nurture the outdoor classroom. This means that our teachers bring their lessons outside as much as possible in order for us to build early relationships and understanding of earth with children. All of our staff are CPR and First Aid Certified. All of our teachers including myself (director) maintain ongoing yearly education. Most importantly here at Alula our teachers lead the classroom with love. We feel so much gratitude in being able to co create with our families and we thank you all :)

About our program

It is our belief that as teachers our job is to hold a loving space in which your child feels comfortable enough to grow explore and learn. We know that each child’s unique imprint is valuable and gives us an opportunity as educators to expand not just in the classroom but also within ourselves. By incorporating different mindful practices ( for example children’s yoga and meditation) It is our mission to enrich your child’s mind with skills that will continue to grow and benefit them well into adolescence. We acknowledge the whole child approach to learning. This means that in combination with socio-emotional learning we aim to build skills and behaviors that will benefit your child as healthy functioning members of society rather that solely focusing on academics. Thus assisting your child in building life resiliency and coping skills. Here at Alula & beyond we are a diverse community that fosters learning, love and growth. We thank you and We look forward to serving your family!

Admissions

Join the Alula & Beyond Child Care community in three easy steps: **Alula & Beyond will be opening for in home care late 2023. Currently Alula is providing Traveling Care/Homeschooling services in the homes of students

  1. Explore our website We’ve provided information about our philosophies and offerings to help you decide if our program may be right for your family. If you have any questions or would like a copy of Alula & Beyond’s Handbook please email me at [email protected]
  2. Schedule an admissions meeting. I require two separate meetings as a part of the enrollment process. The first meeting will be a virtual/remote meeting with me. I will send you Alula’s handbook prior to our meeting and we will go over it together making sure any questions or concerns you have are addressed. When you decide to enroll the next step will be scheduling a meeting in your home and or space you would like care to be provided for the child. This will allow me to view the space (making sure it meets the requirements stated in the handbook) and also to meet the children I will be providing care for. If you would like to schedule an admissions meeting with me please email [email protected] Enrollment application/ Paperwork will need to be completed upon decision to enroll during your admissions meeting.
