Our Teachers

My name is the Amy Vinton. I am the owner and primary provider at Great Beginnings. I am a certified elementary teacher, and I recently began graduate classes to earn my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. I have over 14 years of childcare experience and 12 years of experience within the public schools as an elementary teacher and interventionist. Additionally, I have had the privilege to work with other early childhood professionals as an early childhood educational coach. I am also an early childhood trainer for the state of Nebraska and a Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator. I began my career within childcare when my own two children were 18 months old and still on the way ;). I had no idea at that time what a life-changing decision this was for myself and my family.

Philosophy

I strive to create a home-like environment for all children and parents and strive to meet each child’s individual needs in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. I have a large indoor childcare space for children and a large, fenced backyard with a variety of play equipment for all ages of children.

Location

We are located in Northeast Kearney in the Stoneridge development. I am approximately 2 blocks away from Meadowlark School.

About our program

Hello! Welcome to Great Beginnings! Our family child care program is a Montessori-inspired, play-based program. Preschool is offered for children over the age of 3 Monday-Thursday, along with a daily story time, music & movement, and an art or cooking project. As we are a childcare family, parents have several opportunities throughout the year to participate in special events such as a yearly bbq, Halloween party, Mini-Thanksgiving, Christmas Party and cookie exchange, Valentine’s Day Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Mother’s & Father’s Day breakfasts, and field trips to the pumpkin patch, Children’s Museum, and splash pad.
