👋🏾 Hello!
I am Caleesa, the founder of Londyn’s Bridge. I was inspired to start my own program, as it has always been my dream to design my own child development philosophy, where children can blossom and grow into who they were created to be. I have 27 years of experience working with young children.
The photos you see on this website, reflect the licensed small family childcare I started, in San Ramon, CA. It was a dream of mine to have a special space, exclusively for children, reflective of home, school and community. My family and I moved to Charlotte, NC in 2021. After varying life changes and societal variances in childcare expectations, I have decided to continue the dream one family at a time.
I am an experienced full-charge, governess nanny, open to a nanny-share, which allows for full gross motor exploration of outdoor life experiences. One which respects Ms. Caleesa’s unique “Whole Body Learning Model”, of parenting and child development where children are understood to be capable of being both student and teacher, leading their educational exploration through a series of engagement using most of all fives senses. Children owning their learning and interests, with loving and often structured guided participation from an adult trusted to care and “mentor” them into becoming their best self.
Achievements
Philosophy
At Londyn’s Bridge Nanny Care, we believe it takes a village to raise a child, and learning is a whole body experience. It is my job to care for the whole child, as each moment of a child’s care experience is valuable with a teaching moment in all experiences. My 27+ years of experience in child development has allowed me to build a program, that exposes children to rich experiences in language, music, art, movement, culinary culture, math and science through play daily. I believe that each child has their own unique learning style. It is my goal through daily care, to find what best helps each child and ensure there are tools that support their needs. My teaching style is very intentional, and strives to support each child for life readiness. School readiness is considered vital, yet not traditionally embraced in my philosophy. I support the ideology that all social interactions in life are scaffolds for learning, of which is best experienced in local community.
Location
Londyn’s Bridge Nanny Care is located in a welcoming, cozy apartment home in the Steele Creek Area of Charlotte.
We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts), and music and movement area (for physical activity and cultural learning).
Londyn’s Bridge Nanny Care has an outdoor focus, spending the primary hours of care in local community for maximum learning and exploration.
About our program
At Londyn’s Bridge Nanny Care, we strive to provide developmentally appropriate care for children ages 2 to 5 years. Research shows that the bonding and security a child receives from a loving and stable care environment is essential to their social, emotional, and cognitive development. I honor each child as an individual and care for them as if they were my own.
Ms. Caleesa understands that infants are born with a “blank slate” of memory, therefore its up to the care provider to allow as many opportunities as possible daily to aide in the depositing of information in babies’ brain development. By the age of 2, a child has developed enough working memory to build upon their existing knowledge with innovative experiences and exposures. Loads of learning through play, singing, reading, language exchange, science, music, math games, hugging and cultural food exploration will be daily activities.
Londyn’s Bridge Nanny Care incorporates a multi-lingual approach. On a daily basis, your child will be exposed to English, Spanish and American Sign Language (beginners level).
At Londyn’s Bridge Nanny Care world exploration through cultural experiences is of high value. Attending story time at the local library, trying new foods in community settings, discovery outings , or local nature walks are some of the daily activities. Ms. Caleesa enjoys ethic foods, providing new interesting culinary opportunities often to help expand your child’s palate. Rhythm and movement are an integral part of our daily interactions, along with the value of peace and developmentally appropriate practices. We love to provide new experiences to stimulate your child’s developing brain.
