Our Teachers
Our teachers are caring and well informed. We hire and train the most dedicated staff to meet the developmental needs of all children. Our program director has a masters in child psychology which informs her on the developmental needs of children and how those needs can be met and further developed and advanced. Her understanding of all developmental types, including atypical development, helps her to treat each child as an individual and aid in their personal growth and understanding
Philosophy
2 year olds Our teachers understand and honor each child’s need for independence and self-confidence. We find a balance between offering the children the freedom to explore and make choices, and being there to give hugs and words of encouragement when things don’t go their way. We provide meaningful, hands-on opportunities for exploration as we encourage your child to learn more about the world around them, using lesson plans focused on their achievement of developmental milestones. 3 year olds At this age, children are really beginning to find their own way, and being allowed to choose activities gives them the freedom and willingness to try new things. Our preschool program is set up to encourage that budding curiosity and use it as a learning tool. Teachers combine the use of child- initiated activities and small-group instruction to expand each child’s skills and knowledge. We use a preschool Curriculum that combines explicit teaching, observation, and developmental assessments, to ensure that we are meeting the developmental and educational needs of each child. Our preschool classrooms incorporate technology and educational software to further enhance your child’s learning experience. 4-5 year olds Our pre- K program offers a variety of teaching strategies to encourage children to develop to their fullest potential and to ensure that they are ready for Kindergarten. Teachers use small group activities to conduct math, literacy, writing, and science lessons, as other children explore the classroom’s many learning centers. Our goal is to prepare children to be lifelong learners, and create a foundation for success.
Location
We are located centrally in a residential area that is very safe and fast developing. Our school building gives that homey feeling while at the same time having first class facilities. We are located very close so many apartment complexes, easy for our teachers and students to commute from school to home. While we are very central, we are also on a quiet street giving that safe and peaceful field.
About our program
At Afreya’s Playground in Cary, Our program is designed to meet the developmental needs of young children and promote kindergarten readiness. Our highest priority is to ensure that our students are protected both physically and emotionally. We want to provide children with meaningful and relevant opportunities to develop their full potential. Research has shown that kids do better in school when they work on both their social and academic abilities. Therefore, we employ a curriculum that gives children the greatest possible opportunity by providing them with early access to high-quality education. We acknowledge the link between excellent mental health and academic success in children. As a result, we allow children to express themselves in a secure environment surrounded by caregivers who love and support them. We see parents as the main and most essential providers of care and nurturing for their children, and we believe parents and teachers should work together to care for and educate them.
