Nuestros profesores

I have a BS in Early Childhood Education and have been in education for about 15 years. I have worked in Early Head Start & Kindergarten programs, which sparked my realization of the importance of education and high quality care for the first few years of life, so children can enter kindergarten well-prepared! I have also led trainings for our local school district, and I am also a mother of two children. I love working with young children because of their enthusiasm to learn and discover. Watching a child grasp a concept and learn something new is one of the most special parts of my work.

Filosofía

At The Academy Experience, we believe young children learn best through play, exploration, meaningful relationships, and hands-on experiences. Our approach combines the nurturing environment of a small in-home program with intentional learning opportunities designed to support the development of the whole child.

We use the Mississippi Beginnings Curriculum to guide developmentally appropriate learning experiences and help build the foundational skills children need for future success. While school readiness is an important part of our program, we believe preparing children for kindergarten means supporting more than academics. We nurture children’s social-emotional, language, cognitive, physical, creative, and independence skills as they grow.

Our daily schedule provides children with a consistent routine while allowing plenty of opportunities to explore and learn. Throughout the day, children participate in experiences such as circle time, early literacy and language activities, math and manipulatives, fine- and gross-motor development, early writing, art and creativity, music and movement, dramatic play, outdoor learning, and nature discovery.

Learning is intentionally incorporated into play so children have opportunities to ask questions, make choices, solve problems, build confidence, develop friendships, and discover new interests.

Because we maintain a small, intimate learning environment, we are able to recognize each child’s individual strengths, interests, and developmental needs and provide additional support or challenges when appropriate.

Our goal is for every child to leave The Academy Experience feeling confident, capable, curious, and prepared for kindergarten and beyond.

The Academy Experience is conveniently located in Southaven, Mississippi, near Goodman Road, providing families with easy access to our program from surrounding Southaven and DeSoto County neighborhoods.

Our program is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, offering children a peaceful, welcoming, and home-like environment where they can learn, play, and grow.

One of the highlights of our location is our fenced-in backyard, which provides children with opportunities to enjoy outdoor play, gross-motor activities, nature exploration, and hands-on learning experiences in a secure outdoor space.

Our location near the Goodman Road area also provides convenient access to many of Southaven’s schools, businesses, shopping areas, and major roadways, making drop-off and pick-up convenient for families traveling to work, school, or other daily activities.

At The Academy Experience, we love being able to offer families the personal feel of a neighborhood childcare program while remaining conveniently located in the heart of the Southaven community.

The Academy Experience is a nurturing, high-quality in-home early childhood program serving children ages 3 months through 5 years old. Our small, intimate setting allows us to provide personalized attention, meaningful small-group experiences, and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities designed around each child’s individual growth.

We believe the early years are the foundation for future success. Our program combines the warmth and comfort of a home-based environment with intentional learning experiences that prepare children socially, emotionally, and academically for their next stage of development.

What Makes The Academy Experience Unique?

Our smaller program allows us to truly get to know each child—their personality, interests, strengths, developmental needs, and learning style. Children receive individualized support while also learning how to communicate, cooperate, build friendships, solve problems, and become confident, independent learners.

Throughout the year, our scholars participate in seasonal celebrations, themed learning experiences, special projects, family activities, and other opportunities that make learning meaningful and fun.
