Our Teachers

MSDH requires 15 contact hours. However, we ensure our teachers earn 30 hours per school year. Their training includes health and safety, best educational practices for all children, and S.T.E.M. Our teachers are loving and eager to build lifelong foundational skills and relationships with your child and family.

Philosophy

Our values are equality, growth, encouragement, and community-minded. It is our belief with the right supports, scaffolding, and allowing a scholar to naturally develop their academic skills, they are able to learn. Scholars are given the opportunity to work at their own pace using various techniques of learning.

Location

We’re located in Jackson, MS outside of Clinton in the Westside Subdivision.

About our program

Magnolia Oak Microschool is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment, welcoming children of all abilities, including those with special needs. We offer 2 programs for your family needs: Microschool (Kindergarten to 8th grade), and Afterschool (ages 5 years old to 12years old). Parents receive multiple updates throughout the day about their child. Microschool scholars participate in self-paced academic curriculum, Monday - Thursday. On Fridays, scholars participate in elective classes such as library, computer, foreign language, art, and music.
