Latiffah Lowe, Director/Owner
Latifah is from Hattiesburg, Mississippi! At the age of 8 years old, she lost her mother, which required her to move to St. Paul, Minnesota with her father, and his family. Later, Latifah had the desire to move back home to Mississippi, where she would learn just how much serving children was deeply rooted within her!
Before passing away, Latifah’s mother served as a childcare administrator at a local YMCA. Soon after, Latiffah would pick up the same passion! She started her education at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she would begin as a nursing major, in hopes of becoming a pediatric nurse. 4 years later, Latiffah transferred her education to the William Carey University. She furthered her education in Child Psychology. Latiffah also has The Child Development Associate.
Her favorite thing about what she does is having the opportunity to make difference in children’s lives, but to also form, bond, and make a difference in the lives of the families that she serves as a whole! She believes that offering a Micro School setting will develop a relatable, and strong community, that will also shine as a supportive foundation for others for many years to come!
Testimonials
I can remember being extremely afraid to send my child to daycare! I had no idea what a micro school was. I just heard some great things about Mrs. Latifah and wanted to look further into her program. I can confidently say that I made a great decision! My child has matured, learned, and has been loved on beyond my imagination!
Philosophy
It is the mission of GPA Micro Learning Academy to provide not only a place for an exceptional learning experience academically, but also to ensure that each student is granted an opportunity to experience learning throughout music, drama, art, storytelling, dance, and multicultural celebrations! Children are most definitely a gift to have! Here at GPA, we believe that all children should be nourished thoroughly! In doing so, we will allow each child to gravitate towards cleanliness, healthy nutrition, activities, and experiences that grasp their attention, and interests. Our goal is to foster independence and support diverse patterns of development.
GPA also prepares children for our everyday life skills that we commonly face in society today! As children are introduced to community-centered living, we encourage each child to work as a team in our school’s community, to make choices that will not only benefit themselves, but choices that will also benefit their peers as well. With the knowledge of this life skill, they will learn to respect themselves, others, and their environment! Emotionally the children of GPA will conquer having conflict resolution skills by being able to confront, and properly express their feelings, as well as listening, and effectively responding to the feelings of others. GPA is elated to have the opportunity to service your family! We look forward to granting your child an exceptional learning opportunity. Thank you for trusting GPA as your child’s early childhood institute of higher education!
