Our Teachers

In my eight years of experience working in after-school programs, I’ve had the privilege of engaging with children from diverse backgrounds, ages, and abilities. I find immense joy in creating enriching and supportive environments where children can explore, learn, and grow both academically and socially. Building meaningful connections, witnessing their curiosity, creativity, and resilience, and seeing their growth and development over time are some of the most rewarding aspects of my work. One goal I have for my site is to continue to implement a comprehensive social-emotional learning curriculum that fosters empathy, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills, empowering children to build positive relationships, navigate challenges, and thrive in their personal and academic lives.

Testimonials

Parents report that because of UP’s STEAM-focus, “their children have developed better work habits, their children’s interest in learning has increased, and their children’s confidence in STEM and reading has increased”.

Philosophy

UP After School is a safe and educational option for parents, and it is an enhancement to a child’s regular classroom learning. The program provides a curriculum-based approach to math, literature, character education, fitness and nutrition. High quality enrichment activities expose children to cultural arts and encourage creative expression in a supportive environment. Unleashing Potential is proud to partner with various organizations across the St. Louis region and provide these experiences to our children. Core Values: Play-Based Learning: We believe that play is essential for children’s development and use it as a foundation for learning across all age groups. Individualized Attention: We recognize that each child learns at their own pace and tailor our program to meet their unique needs and interests. Family Engagement: We value strong partnerships with families and involve them actively in their child’s education. Inclusion, Diversity Equity, and Access (IDEA): We strive to create a welcoming environment that celebrates differences and fosters respect for all cultures and backgrounds.
