Kayla Gray, Founding Director
Kayla graduated from Central State University in 2015 with an Graphic Design Bachelors degree because the love and appreciation of art captured her attention. Kayla have worked in afterschool and summer programs on and off for 5+ years. In Fall 2022, Kayla was asked to come back to Covert Public Schools as full-time substitute for Middle School ELA, this inspired her to pursue her Masters degree in Elementary Education: Teaching. Kayla was accepted into the Grow Your Own Grant Program at Western Michigan University and will graduate December 2024 with her Teaching Certificate. She believes hands-on teaching and working with the kids directly is the best way to learn to create a beautiful student-teacher relationship which establishes the supportive foundation in the early years of the youth’s growth.
Philosophy
At my school, we follow the S.T.E.A.M. teaching philosophy where children can explore the basic concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics themed activities. These topics provide a strong basis for cognitive, social, and emotional growth, as well as preparing children for the modern world while providing safe, creative fun and educational equity.
