Hello, welcome to our program! My name is Shekelia Stokes, the founder and director of Childrenz Place Child Care Center I have a Associates Degree in Pre-Special Education from Wayne County Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with Master Courses in Education. I have been caring for young children for 24 years through the public school system & early childhood education. I am a parent of 2 children, ages 13 & 23. I am passionate about early education and truly love having an impact on the earliest stage of children’s academic lives. I am excited to meet you and provide your children with the highest quality care and education.
Philosophy
At Childrenz Place 2 Child Care Center, we follow the Play-Based curriculum philosophy, which is a non-academic approach to developing skills designed to provide a firm foundation for later academic success. We help your child develop feelings of security, accomplishment, and self-esteem while living the daily and weekly rhythms that are woven into the cycle of the year. On any given day, we may enjoy art, storytelling, movement, and local excursions to experience the world around us. Children are encouraged to explore and learn through unstructured play, which fosters lifelong creativity and intellectual curiosity.

About our program
Our school is Great Start to Quality Star Rated 4. We have a GSRP program. Free preschool program for 4 year olds. We are fully staffed and trained. Every staff member is also CPR & First-Aid certified. We pride ourselves in completing backgrounds on staff members.
