Philosophy
“The Learning Place Child Development Center, LLC” aims to excel as “The Center for Early Learning Excellence” by delivering top-notch care and education for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers. Emphasizing children’s interests at the core of our educators’ focus, we nurture the whole child, ensuring their well-being and providing stimulating challenges. Our educational philosophy prioritizes problem-solving over content mastery, believing that mastering problem-solving leads to mastering content.
We incorporate the High Scope Curriculum, Conscious Discipline, COR Advantage, and Ages and Stages Developmental Screening into our practices, guiding children’s growth from the moment they enter our center. Utilizing Conscious Discipline for classroom management, we foster emotional intelligence where children learn to express feelings, resolve conflicts verbally, and collaborate effectively. Within our “Maslow Before Bloom” approach, we establish a “School Family” environment that promotes connections and fulfills basic needs before academic pursuits.
Location
Our location is located on the main road of Swede Avenue, while nestled in the quiet area of Sugnet St.
About our program
The Learning Place is planning to be established in 2023 to provide quality care and education to the community. We use the HighScope curriculum in all of our classrooms. The HighScope Curriculum is play-based, child-centered, and grounded in research, the HighScope Curriculum features active learning at its core. In a HighScope classroom, children are guided to explore, interact, and exercise their creative imagination through purposeful play. Well-prepared teachers support and extend each child’s learning based on their developmental levels, so children enter school ready and eager to learn.
Our School also utilizes Conscious Discipline, Conscious Discipline teaches children to name their emotions, regulate them, and then solve problems. This starts with our ability to offer empathy when a child is in a state of upset.
We provide breakfast lunch and snack as we are a member of the USDA CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program), which means our meals are held to a standard of quality. We provide both Full-Time for Infants, Toddlers and Preschool as well as an option for four-day Preschool from 8:30-3:30.
