Our Teachers

Amanda Siekas, Director

Amanda has an extensive background in childcare that started when she was 10 years old. She started babysitting for the neighborhood children and over the years has worked in an in home daycare, watched a family of two boys for 10+ years, and has 3 children of her own. In 2021, she realized her dream of having her own in home childcare program after the birth of her twin boys. Her favorite thing about what she does is developing relationships with the children that she teaches and their families. She believes that small class size and the development of a strong community allow her and her team to really know each child as an individual and to provide a solid and supportive foundation in the early years. We are raising the children of our future.

Philosophy

At our school, we strive to create a safe and caring community of young explorers inspired by the Montessori philosophy. Our program is a place where children can learn through doing, invent through making, and solve problems by working together. We believe that when children are truly engaged with their environment, magic happens. Our team of experienced and innovative teachers do this by creating a space driven by the interests and ideas of the children who inhabit it.

Location

We are located in the Silverbell Oaks Subdivision off Silverbell Road between Lapeer Road and Squirrel Road. We have a 2700 sq ft home that offers ample space for the children to learn and grow. We have a nice playground in our backyard that has 3 inches thick of rubber playscape mulch. We have lots of outdoor activities including multiple cozy coupes, sidewalk chalk, tricycles, and so much more. We are very close to I-75 and M-59 for easy commutes.

About our program

At our school, we teach the concepts of math, science, engineering, art, social sciences and early literacy through our play-based, child-led curriculum. We use the interests and ideas of the children as a jumping off place. The materials are open-ended and invite discovery. Children make their own investigations and draw their own conclusions whenever possible. We offer the perfect balance of health, safety, education, in a nurturing home environment.
