Our Teachers

Hello, My Name is Ms. Tina (affectionately known as “TT”

I am currently an exceptional home-based childcare provider with an impressive 30 of experience in early childhood. As a mother of three children and a grandmother to five, My passion for nurturing and educating young minds runs deep.

My resume is strong, and I have worked very hard in our community to help children evolve into becoming great people, I work closely with my amazing staff and awesome parent to help build confident and independent children who know who they are and the importance of their voice and self worth.

Having owned and operated two centers in the past, and now currently opening this new center, being a nanny on the east coast, volunteering in GRPS, consulting, coaching, and mentoring other childcare providers in my community to become the best version of themselves in their own childcare business. I know this is definitely my calling, I have a love for community and the children in our community and want to see them excel. I strongly believe it takes a village that works together for the good of our children to be strong, confident, and caring individual. I am currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education to further enhance my knowledge and skills. What started as a desire to provide my own children with high-quality care, emphasizing on building self love, self care, and confidence in their identity of who they are, has blossomed into a loving environment for children in our community, so they may obtain the same unique values.

My Home based childcare as well as my center Learning Through Play not only offers delicious home-cooked meals but also a sense of belonging and togetherness. We are family here!

My parents can rest assured that their children will receive the utmost care and attention in a nurturing environment that fosters growth and development for every child that comes to my childcare center Learning Through Play! I’m excited to welcome you!

Philosophy

My mission is to provide a warm and nurturing childcare for families within the community by providing exceptional and quality childcare, in a small center based setting

I believe that children are talented and capable little people who • Learn through play and exploration of their everyday surrounding, Every moment is a teachable moment so we allow them express their creativity through art, music, dance, singing their own creative ideas, and most importantly though play, through play they learn how to navigate the world that is before them and this prepares them for everyday life as they grow.

Location

We are located at 4130 Breton Rd. SE, a very safe area of the Kentwood, Michigan. Excel Charter School is directly across the street from our childcare center. We are also within walking distance of public transportation and right next door to an amazing pediatrician!

About our program

At Learning Through Play Childcare, I focus on development of the whole child. Each day your child will be engaged in learning activities that take place in a safe, secure, nurturing and enriched environment. I treat each child and parent with understanding, respect, and patience, while being responsive to your individual needs and expectations. You will receive daily information outlining your child’s activities and routines. This information will include observations related to their development such as the food eaten, diaper changes, length of nap time, new skills learned, classroom activities, and special accomplishments.
