Our Teachers

Little Minds Enrichment Center Management Team consists of Co-founders Junita Moton and Shay Moton, both are passionate about advancing children with positive self-concept and literacy skills. These two teachers have over 25 years’ experience working in education with children newborn to high school age. Shay Moton is masterful working with newborn to preschoolers. Shay has earned bachelor’s degree in Mental Health (1998) from Wilberforce University and her master’s degree in special education Cross Categorical (2015) from Grand Canyon University and also went on further to pursue degree in ABA therapy in (2018) from University of Sabara of California. In 2023 she recently completed her CDA in Infants and Toddlers through Leaps and Bounds.

Junita Moton is a high school teacher with over 27 years of experience preparing students for college and careers. Ms. Moton educational credentials include a bachelor’s degree in business and computer education from Ferris State University and a Masters’ degree from Wayne State University in Career and Technical Education along with completion of advanced coursework from Walden University in Educational Technology. In 2023 she recently completed her CDA in Preschool through Leaps and Bounds.

Philosophy

Children learn best when given an opportunity to explore, be creative in a fun way, and receive the right nurturing and motivational support. Growth and achievement are important milestones in childcare. I believe that with the use of evidenced best practices, strategies, resources, and curriculum, kids have a better chance of reaching their educational goals and soaring for lifelong success.

Little Minds Enrichment Center is located at 12518 Hayes Detroit, Mi. 48205 conveniently located near Interstate I-94 and I-696, along major streets Kelly Rd., Chalmers, Harper, Moross, and Vernier.

About our program

Little Minds Enrichment Center provides quality childcare for low to moderate income families with children ages 10 months to 5 years of age. Latchkey and after school enrichment programming for kids ages 5 – 12 years of age is available. Young children 18 months to 5 years of age receive quality care implementing Abeka early childhood curriculum, evidenced to develop kids physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. To support working families, latchkey services are available before and after regular hours. Fun and innovative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) enrichment classes are offered to preschool to middle school kids ages 5 – 12. Our transparent childcare operations ensure families that their young children are cared for in a safe, healthy, educationally engaging environment developing and exploring their unique creative little minds.

Little Minds Enrichment Center is unique as we provide Saturday childcare services for families. Our experienced staff is certified to work with children with varied skills and abilities, particularly children on the autistic spectrum. Working families are afforded before and after care latchkey starting at 6:00 am and ending at 7:00 pm. Children enrolled at Little Minds Enrichment Center engage in STEAM learning within a safe, fun and explorative environment.
