Our Teachers

Felicia Guess, Director

  Felicia graduated from University of Phoenix, Livonia, MI, in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Administration (BSB/A) and an Associate Child Care/Development (A.AP.S.) in 2000. Felicia grew up in a Family Child Care Home, where her mother tended to children, which inspired her to want to further this path and make a legacy for her mother. Felicia has assisted over 250 families over the past 30 years, this passion keeps Felicia showing up and pursuing this purpose on her life. Felicia believes that it takes a Village to Rear Children.

Philosophy

We are designed to develop each child’s psychological, emotional behavior, and social skills through the use of the following: Daily electronic communication Monthly Newsletters Provide a variety of developmental appropriate project based academic activities Have a secure environment for outdoor adventure and nature appreciation Plan creative expression and artistic development activities for children to explore daily Supervised field trips when feasible Sports/fitness and health/nutrition education Drop in care available

We are located in District 1 near North Rosedale Park Area. We’re a few blocks away from local parks, schools and library.

Elite Scholars Learning Center in Detroit excels at fostering children’s growth through engaging experiential learning. Our program emphasizes cognitive and motor skill enhancement, all in a supportive atmosphere that promotes self-reliance. With a focus on early childhood education, we provide a unique and top-quality experience for each child to thrive and succeed.

  2. Tour our program Come see what makes Elite Scholars Learning Center unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start hosting tours again in the future.
  3. Submit an Enrollment Application If you’re interested in enrolling, submit an application by selecting Apply to enroll. This will add you to the waiting list and save a spot for your child when the center officially opens. If this option is not available, you can message the program director. Please do not apply to enroll until you have set up a tour and visited the program.
