Greetings Everyone. I am Valerie Parker, aks Ms. Parker in the Brightmoor community where I reside as youth advocate and community activist. In 2008, I established the Fayz Group, a nonprofit organization, opening a non-traditional OST program on Fenkel and Lasher closing in 2010 due to funding.
Ms. Parker has recently established Brightmoor Urban Training (BUT) LLC to assist in providing a healthy safe environment for targeting at-risk youths and low-income families working poor with STREAM focus. Valerie Parker is an Educator and an Afrocentric Sociologist with focus on 21st Century Community Learning.

All employees must heed to the State of Michigan Child Care Licensing requirements. All employees are in the process of obtaining their MiYDA credentials. Our focus is to provide a high-quality OST childcare learning facility for the youths in the Brightmoor community in conjunction with ECE providers in the Brightmoor community.
Philosophy
Our facility will provide a high quality nontraditional out of school time facility with focus on STREAM. BUT is a faith based Afrocentric facility. BUT will offer Saturday school programs with focus on self-awareness, character building and financial literacy.
About our program
Our childcare facility offers Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) every Saturday. We focus on STREAM, science, technology, reading, writing, arts, and math being a continuum of day school. ELO with Belle Island Aquarium visits, Museum visits, and summer learning with nature. We allow children to be children as they learn how to learn.
