Our Teachers

Director: AynNichelle has researched education around the world. She founded Camp Biomed in 2014, a summer STEM camp for middle schoolers, that runs today in Richmond, IN. She worked as a youth minister for civil rights leaders in Jackson, MS at the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation, where she oversaw an after-school tutoring program and summer STEM camp for three years. She has also researched Hip Hop and English as a Second Language (ESL) education in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa. She has served as a Special Education Teacher at a juvenile detention facility in Highland Park, MI. However, her official entrance into education was as a Building Substitute and Reading Interventionist at Marshall Middle School. AynNichelle founded Albion Champion Education (ACE) to accelerate the success of the students she taught and mentored at Marshall Middle, many of them being her own siblings and their friends. The program’s purpose is to achieve grade level proficiency for Albion’s incoming class of 6th graders.

Philosophy

At the ACE Scholars Program we are committed to addressing education inequity by providing affordable childcare and after-school education. Through instruction, tutoring, and mentoring we seek to empower 10-13 year olds with tools to create solutions to the problems they and their community face for college and beyond.

Location

We are conveniently located in a residential area across the street from Harrington Elementary School, in Albion, MI.
