Hi, my name is Ms. Porchia Johnson and I am the center director. As a mother of four, I have always had a passion for children and their growth and development. I started my journey in the childcare field as a daycare teacher and later became a substitute teacher. I hold a childcare provider certificate and I am currently working towards obtaining my CDA. Opening my own childcare program has always been a dream of mine, as I find great joy in witnessing each individual child come into their own. My love for children runs deep and I am committed to creating a safe and loving environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.
Philosophy
Our childcare center embraces play based learning as the foundation of early childhood education. Play based learning is an approach that recognizes the importance of child-initiated play in fostering cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. It encourages children to actively engage in a variety of activities that are designed to be both fun and educational. Our center provides workshop spaces where children can engage in hands-on activities, learning toys and activities that stimulate their curiosity, and open-ended play that allows for imaginative and creative expression. Through play, children will have the opportunity to explore, experiment, problem-solve, and develop essential life skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
About our program
At our childcare center, our top priority is ensuring that children are not only safe and well taken care of, but also happy and excited to be part of our community. We believe in the power of celebration, and we make it a point to go all out for major holidays such as birthdays, Easter, Christmas, and more. We want children to feel a sense of joy and anticipation during these special occasions, and we create a warm and festive atmosphere to make it happen. However, it doesn’t stop there. We also emphasize the importance of giving back and involving children in acts of kindness. By organizing community projects and encouraging families to participate, we instill a sense of responsibility and compassion in our children. We love and support each child, and we actively work towards creating a tight-knit community that nurtures their growth and development.
