Sheron Bello, Director
I am Sheron Bello, the Director, Owner, and teacher of Annie’s Family Daycare. My husband is Toyin Bello and he assists me with running the Child Care center. I am also affectionately called Annie and that’s how the business name came about, Annie’s Family Daycare. As of August 31, 2021, l celebrate nine years as a license Childcare Provider in the State of Maryland. My journey to becoming a child care provider started way before I realized. When my children were younger– that’s over thirty years ago– I quit my job to be a stay at home mom not knowing that I would end up taking care of other children other than my own. Although I was not licensed back them, that is how my journey began. Being a part of military family we moved often from one country to another. My children grew older and I reentered the workforce.
After years of living overseas, we received orders to relocate to the military base in Quantico, Virginia. There I became a licensed provider with much encouragement from a friend who was a licensed provider herself. In less than a year, my time caring for children on base was cut short when we received new orders to again… this time to Maryland. Once again I took a job outside of my home.
After many years in the workforce I lost my desire to what I was doing and knew within myself that a change is needed, but wasn’t sure what it is. I eventually became a grandmother and saw my granddaughter going from one childcare provider to the other. Her first provider retired, and things did not work out well with the second one. At that point, I decided to pursue the option of becoming a licensed child care provider in the state of Maryland. Once everything was in place, I quit my job one month shy of celebrating ten years with the company.
Who would ever thought that, quitting my job to keep my kids along with the children of other military families, to entering the workforce, would lead to me back to my destiny of caring for children full time. Had it not been for my granddaughter’s struggle with childcare, I may have missed the signal to return back to what I love. I am living my purpose and find great joy watching the kids grow up.
Krystle Wright, Substitute
Hello! My name is Mrs. Krystle and I am a volunteer substitute at Annie’s Family Daycare center and the daughter of the director. I’ve been with the child care for 9 years and love every minute of assisting. Aside from serving as a substitute, I also handle the administrative duties allowing more time for the Director to focus on the operations of the center. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Bowie State University, and work full-time for the Department of Education. I am a mother of three girls ages 2, 12, and 18 and find great joy in being around and helping our little ones learn and grow. If you ever need anything, I’m always a phone call away!

Testimonials
“Long infant waitlist, plan your pregnancies accordingly! Soooo worth it!!!” -Jamia Davis Chiles
“I HIGHLY recommend Annie’s Family Daycare!! My son attended this daycare center from infancy until he was eligible to begin Kindergarten. He entered Kindergarten prepared with all of the skills needed to be successful; including the ability to read and write sentences. The staff is family-oriented, yet professional. Not only was my son treated with the love and care of a family, but my entire family was always welcomed in that manner. I highly, highly recommend Annie’s Family Daycare to any family looking for a family-like atmosphere for your little one to grow and thrive!” -Nadia Garner
“Having Mrs. Annie to care for our children has been a blessing. Each of our three children have been in her care over the past 9 years. We feel confident that our children are safe, engaged and loved at Mrs. Annie’s daycare. “ - Abena Elihillali
Philosophy
Communication is the cornerstone of our childcare philosophy at Annie’s Family Daycare. We strongly believe that building a solid relationship between parents and providers is essential for a successful childcare arrangement. By exchanging vital information about the child’s life, such as changes in routine, special events, or challenges like death or moving, we can gain valuable insights into the child’s emotions, behavior, and overall well-being. Additionally, we are firm believers that family child care in a warm and nurturing “home-like” environment is the optimal choice for working parents. Our goal is to create a secure and loving space where children can thrive during their crucial developmental years, surrounded by a diverse group of “siblings” of all ages for socialization, play, and learning.
About our program
We provide:
Asafe environment
A nurturing environment
A learning environment… learning is not necessarily the ABC’s and 123’s, but is also the learning of values. The learning of honesty, respect, self–reliance, potential, self-discipline, and moderation, the values of being; dependable, love, sensitivity to others, kindness, friendliness and fairness are the values of giving.
A proper approach to discipline… Since children occasionally need discipline, it is important that you and I share a similar philosophy so that your child is not too confused as to where the boundaries are and what is expected of him/her. Children are taught which behaviors are inappropriate, and why, and given alternatives that are acceptable. In this way, the inappropriate behavior is being changed, with out making the child feel “bad” or unloved. This helps develop their self-esteem, and teaches them how to handle difficult situations themselves in the future. I express my disapproval (without attaching character). I state my expectations and show your child how to make amends. I give choices, and in extreme situations a child may be given a “time out”; because at times a child may be having trouble making choices of their own and they just may need a couple of minutes to calm down, and think about their choices.
Unconditional love… this kind of love is very important to me because children should not grow up feeling that in order to be loved and cared for they must meet numerous conditions.
