We chose Mi Escuelita because we wanted a home-like setting for our children. We sent our oldest when he was two and they did such a good job of transitioning him into the school routine. He cried a little in the beginning but after a few days he looked forward to going and wanted to stay longer when it was time to pick him up. They really helped us as parents to get a routine going that would make him feel safe and look forward to school. They have a little song about how parents come back and that helped so much. The backyard is amazing and has lots of space to run outside and get energy out. The kids enjoyed the singing at the end of the day so much and all of the centers and toys. 

One thing is that my children really learned the important skills for being in a group at school- using your chair, a cubby/hooks, many good independence skills like fastening coats, putting on shoes and hats and gloves, using the potty independently, listening to friends, learning to raise your hands and speak to your class (show and tell!), lining up, and the little daily routines for being in a larger group at school. Our kids did very well transitioning right from Mi Escuelita into classes of 25+ students for elementary school. 

 We love the multi-age grouping and how the kids learn to be around other children of all ages. It was very helpful because when we had our second child our oldest knew how to keep babies safe and had experience interacting with them. We learned so many good habits and routines for our kids here in our house. Our children learned to love rice and beans so much that I still make it for them and they are 6 and 9! I have to make them “Tia’s Way” or else they will not touch them. And they have to be Goya brand! :) Our children were loved and part of a family during their time at Mi Escuelita. I love Anabela and Ed, and my son loves them too. We were so scared to put our son in daycare but I knew when I went to visit this was the right place. We only took our son out b/c we moved to Gaithersburg and the commute was way too far, but my son still asks for Anabela and Ed every day by name! They do so much with the kids and my son learned a ton there. He was 18 months when we put him in and a little over 2 when we moved. He knew all the letters in his name, can identify all his ABC’s as well. They do field trips, arts and crafts, no tv at all which was amazing to me, and teach the kids in English and Spanish. Their hours are 7:30-5:30 All the parents and kids are amazing we never had one problem or complaint. I could not have asked for better childcare and I miss them a lot. If you ever get a chance to enroll your child with them you will be very happy, plus they provide breakfast and lunch and 2 snacks! The price was not that bad however they do not give a price break for more than one child. However, they are worth it. Such a loving center. Ryan H

My family is so happy we found Mi Escuelita for our childcare needs! My son loves the time he spends at “school”. The kids always have fun age-appropriate activities planned and have made so much progress intellectually. We love it so much we are getting ready to send our infant there as well! I would like to recommend this bilingual childcare. My child started attending when she was 13 months old and over the past 2 years, we have seen her blossom socially and academically. She enjoys going to see Anabela, her teachers, and friends at Mi Escuelita. Anabela has had great insight into my child’s needs and is always providing us with guidance on how to support my child’s development. As a speech-language pathologist, I am pleased with Mi Escuelita’s program that is rich with dual language opportunities and creative activities that keep my child learning every day. 2. Tour our program

Come see what makes Mi Escuelita Childcare unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you’re interested in enrolling, submit an application by selecting Apply to enroll. If this option if not available, you can message the program director. Please do not apply to enroll until you have set up a tour and visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
