Tiffany Jones, Precious Moments Family Childcare Program Director

Tiffany Jones is a sought after early childhood educator and mentor to fellow family childcare providers and parents alike. Tiffany Jones was selected as the Maryland Community Action Agency Parent of the Year for 2015 as well as the Montgomery County Head Start Parent of the Year for 2015 where she was elected as the Chairperson of the Montgomery County Parent Policy Council. Tiffany was Vice-Chairperson of the Montgomery County Community Action Board 2018-2020 and Chairperson 2020-2022 where she volunteered her time and talents to support early childhood education initiatives and encouraged parents to become active in their child(ren’s) education. As an appointed Community Action Board (CAB) member, Tiffany Jones advocated for low-income families (and individuals) so that they gain useful skills, access to education and employment opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency. In July 2016, Tiffany was chosen by The Century Foundation to be a representative to speak at a Capitol Hill briefing on important initiatives for families of young children. Leading, teaching and facilitating are her passions and she strives to incorporate it into each one of her endeavors. Tiffany is currently an appointed Board member of the Children’s Opportunity Alliance (COA), Montgomery County’s Early Care and Education Coordinating Entity. In addition to her professional achievements, Tiffany Jones also participates in a wide variety of volunteer services including being appointed the Outreach Coordinator for II Mainstream a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps newly released ex-offenders transition back into the mainstream of society.

Tiffany earned her Associates of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland in May 2015. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, Maryland in May 2017. Tiffany is a mother to three lovely children Noah Jones (17), Xavier Jones (14) and Sophia Jones (12), who are her greatest joys and her driving force to succeed.

We love Ms. Tiffany! She’s attentive, responsive, professional, and loves interacting with the kids. If I had to submit constructive feedback it would be to send school schedule change reminders (delayed start, closings, etc.) a week in advance. But that may be a personal preference. :-)

It is not uncommon to find her enrolled in a early childhood course of study or program designed to build and or share her knowledge as a childcare provider. Her practices are driven by current research and wrapped in the passion she has for providing children with what they need and deserve. Any child under her care is guaranteed to flourish as a result of her aforementioned expertise, her signature warm and loving daily engagement approach and well crafted environment.” ~ Zakiya Bryant

“ We love Ms. Tiffany and Precious Moments daycare! We were so nervous to send our baby to daycare at 3 months old but Ms. Tiffany was so kind and comforting from the moment we met her and it was a huge relief. Our child has been going to daycare there for almost 6 months now and she loves Ms. Tiffany so much! She’s so excited to go to daycare every morning and she’s learning so much every day. Ms. Tiffany truly cares about the children and is so warm and welcoming. She is very professional, friendly, and communicative. We love that our child is learning, socializing, and growing in such a safe and supportive place. We are beyond impressed and thrilled with Precious Moments!” ~ Emily Fucello

“ When it comes to the business of Early Childhood Education, Tiffany Jones is the best!” ~ Taylor Kittrell

“You are always engaging the students through your questioning and your play with them. There is a clear love and respect that not only you have for the children and they for you but that the children have for each other as well. You are consistently reading the room breaking to do music and movement when needed and even interrupting play for a quick mini lesson that is just fun!” ~ Shona Weaver

Philosophy

We at Precious Moments Family Childcare believe a child’s early experiences enrich and stimulate future growth. Children deserve to be treated and respected as individuals in an environment that welcomes reason, exploration, question, and imagination. We respect each child’s need for love, security, acceptance, warmth, and stimulation. Precious Moments Family Childcare core values: 1. Social Emotional Learning– we prioritize teaching and guiding our children toward becoming good friends and community members. 2. We have a resource rich environment that is guided by an evidence-based curriculum. We also supplement with play-based activities.  3. We have a strong parent community and that is essential to creating a strong learning environment for our children. From a well-read parent newsletter and Facebook group to regular “Pastries with Parents”, our families matter to us.
