Philosophy

As a teacher, I want to create an environment where children can grow to their full potential. Every child learns in their own unique way, and as an educator, it is my aim to create an environment that stimulates them socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. I believe children have a natural desire to learn and master skills and, at Bright Futures Early Learning Program, children are provided with a variety of engaging materials and hands-on activities to explore and practice those skills at their own pace in a safe and loving environment. As children master skills, the materials and activities become more challenging, thus building on their knowledge. When children can choose materials and explore freely, they become active participants in their own learning. We are setting the stage for their future academic achievement and career success.

Family childcare provides children with a unique opportunity to explore and learn in a familiar and comfortable home-like environment. In a mixed-age setting, older children are given the opportunity to be mentors and role models to their younger classmates. They are learning empathy and patience for those younger than them while taking on leadership roles as they teach each other skills they have mastered. Through the relationships I build with parents, we work together to achieve common goals like sleeping through the night, transitioning to solids and table foods, potty training, dressing skills, and many more.

About our program

I have been in the early childhood education field for over 15 years, working with young children in all age groups in both centers and family child care. I am passionate about the early childhood field and a staunch advocate for the importance of quality experiences during the first few years of life. In my program, I focus on providing children with activities and experiences that are engaging and promote learning.

I believe that a strong social/emotional foundation provides a basis from which all other areas of development and learning can grow. I use the research-based Creative Curriculum® for Family Childcare to guide in the creation of my lesson planning. I also use the Healthy Beginnings early learning guidelines and the Ages & Stages Assessment Tool to ensure children are meeting their milestones and learning objectives. Lesson plans reflect the ages, abilities, and interests of the children in my care and are tailored for their specific needs. My childcare is a pet-friendly and smoke-free environment, with a fully fenced backyard that has plenty of space for running, playing, and exploring.

I invite you to make an appointment to tour my facilities and discuss your child care needs.
